Dr. Okanta B. Jackson
Okanta B. Jackson, MD, truly enjoys caring for the people of Tallahassee and neighboring communities. He is a Chicago native and received his Doctorate of Medicine from The Chicago Medical School at Finch University of Health Sciences.
Dr. Jackson completed his Internal Medicine internship at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia with the Morehouse School of Medicine’s Department of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Jackson has completed two post-doctoral fellowships. He was a key contributor to groundbreaking dermatology research during his first Post-Doctoral Fellowship as a National Institute of Health (NIH) Fellow hosted by Emory University. He went on to also complete his Dermatology Residency with Emory University, Department of Dermatology in Atlanta, Georgia.
Included among Dr. Jackson’s several presentations and publications is the co-authorship of a chapter for the Management of Unusual Skin Tumors in the textbook of Mohs Micrographic Surgery.
Dr. Jackson is a fellowship-trained Mohs Micrographic Surgeon. He completed his second Post-Doctoral (Surgical) Fellowship right here in Tallahassee at Dermatology Associates of Tallahassee with Dr. Armand B. Cognetta, director.
Dr. Jackson and his staff specialize in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and general dermatology, focusing their efforts on the treatment and removal of unusual tumors and skin cancers in critical locations. His medical/ surgical techniques are highly specialized and Dr. Jackson prides himself on giving very personalized and superior patient care.
