Joseph V. Caravaglio, MD, FAAD is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He specializes in medical and surgical dermatology.
Dr. Caravaglio graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rutgers University with a B.S. degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience. He went on to earn his Medical Doctorate at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine in Orlando before moving to Rhode Island to complete his dermatology residency training at Brown University. During his medical internship, he was the recipient of the “Clinical Skills Award” and during his residency, was recognized as a “Positive Champion of the Learning Environment” by the Warren Alpert Medical School for his dedication to teaching.
Dr. Caravaglio has published articles in leading medical journals, co-authored a dermatology textbook for his medical school, and has taken part in educating primary care professionals about dermatologic conditions.
In his spare time, Dr. Caravaglio enjoys rock climbing, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, and recording music in his home studio. Fun fact: At the age of 10, he played ‘Chip’ in Disney’s Broadway musical “Beauty and the Beast”.
Dr. Mary Pentel is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon in Jacksonville, FL who specializes in cosmetic and medical skin care. She is the founder and owner of Dermatology Southeast and was featured in Jacksonville Magazine 2019 as one of the top dermatologists in the region. Over the years, she has treated thousands of patients and is well-known among them for her vibrant energy, charming humor, and passion for dermatology. She attributes her great success to her commitment to listening and understanding the needs of her patients so that she can provide the best and most appropriate care possible.

Dr. Pentel strives to exceed the expectations of her patients in general, cosmetic, and medical dermatology. She is highly trained and skilled in a variety of laser technologies and procedures in addition to cosmetic injectables. She is also known for performing minor dermatological surgeries to remove skin cancer, moles, and skin lesions. She offers comprehensive consultations and enjoys combining aesthetic care with proven science to achieve natural, radiant results. Dr. Pentel has been selected by Galderma to train other professionals in the art of injectables.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Dr. Pentel completed her undergraduate and graduate education at Pennsylvania State University at the top of her class with membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. After completing medical school, she served her dermatology residency at Brown University in Providence, RI, where she also served as chief resident.

HUMANITARIAN AND VOLUNTEER WORK
Dr. Pentel is very active in her community and serves in many local organizations, including civic and educational boards. She has also created and held multiple fundraising events, including Purses With A Purpose, to benefit the abused women of Hubbard House and the Smart Kids Program to raise awareness for skin cancer in children. Dr. Pentel also founded Hope for a Better Life, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of adults and children in North East Florida.
Swetha Narahari Pathak, MD matriculated into a combined Bachelors in Science and Medical Doctorate program at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Drexel University College of Arts and Sciences and Alpha Omega Alpha from Drexel University College of Medicine for superlative academic performance, leadership, empathy, and volunteer endeavors.
Dr. Pathak completed her internship at Albert Einstein in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and her Dermatology residency at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina She served as chief resident from 2016-2017. Her training afforded her vast exposure to adult and pediatric dermatology. She excels in cutaneous surgery and is highly skilled in skin cancer surveillance and excisions. She has been showcased in several live television programs, discussing skin care regimens and skin cancer prevention.
Since graduation from residency, Dr. Pathak has been in private practice in North Carolina for the past 5 years. She and her family moved to Florida during the summer of 2022 and Dr. Pathak is excited to grow and serve the community of Jacksonville. Jean H. McClintock, MD, FAAD is a board-certified Dermatologist who specializes in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She earned her Medical Doctorate from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and graduated at the top of her class. Dr. McClintock was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society, for her academic achievements. Following an internship in Internal Medicine at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic Rochester, she completed her Dermatology Residency training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where she received the Resident Teacher of the Year Award.
Dr. McClintock prides herself on providing only the highest quality dermatologic care to all her patients. Her comprehensive skin care services range from thorough skin exams and skin cancer surgery to cosmetic services including Botox©, fillers, and laser therapy. Dr. McClintock has been honored with several prestigious awards including: Best of Jacksonville in the Folio 500 (2019), Vitals’ Patient’s Choice Award (2017), and has been listed as one of Jacksonville, FL’s Top 3 Dermatologists. Dr. McClintock is a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a member of the Jacksonville Dermatology Society, Duval County Medical Society, and the Florida Medical Society. She has made Florida her home and practice location since 1996. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, traveling, hiking, and reading.
Markiza Cooper MD is board certified in American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow at the American Academy of Dermatology. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Tennessee and graduated summa cum laude while working full time. She obtained her Medical Doctorate from East Tennessee State University James H Quillen College of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society for her outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and volunteer endeavors. Dr. Cooper completed her internship and residency at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville and served as Chief Resident her final year. Her training included working at all three Mayo Clinic sites, with vast exposure to adult and pediatric dermatology under the guidance of world-renowned experts in the field. Dr Cooper specializes in medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology.
Pamela Padilla, MD, FAAD is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She specializes in medical, cosmetic and surgical dermatology. Dr. Padilla earned her Medical Doctorate at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida. She completed her Medicine Internship at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital before returning to Florida to complete her Dermatology Residency Program at the University of South Florida. Her residency training included working at four metropolitan hospital systems, as well as various medical dermatology centers. She augmented her surgical education with additional training with a plastic surgeon at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital. After residency, Dr. Padilla moved to Hawaii to practice on Oahu. Dr. Padilla has published numerous abstracts and articles in Dermatologic journals and won several awards, including an Award of Distinction for her presentation on minimally invasive surgical closures at the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons Meeting in 2016. During her final year of residency, she was named Academic Chief Resident. In this role, she helped develop a novel resident Cosmetic Dermatology curriculum, including training under world renowned cosmetic dermatologists, and led the medical dermatology courses for her program.
Skin cancer provides a challenge…removing it can be emotionally distressing to the patient and technically challenging for the surgeon, but the art of reconstruction with minimal scarring is the biggest challenge of them all. As a person driven by challenge, I strive for perfection and outcomes that are always pleasing for every patient.
Arianne Chavez, MD, FAAD is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and specializes in Mohs Surgery (surgical removal of skin cancer). She is a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgeons and the American Academy of Dermatology, and is also a member of the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons and the Jacksonville Dermatology Society.
Dr. Chavez was born and raised in Houston, Texas and graduated magna cum laude from Rice University with a bachelor of arts in Human Performance and Health Science. She received her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO where she received numerous Honors including the Distinguished Minority Student Scholar Award. She completed a transitional internship at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Southern California and then traveled to northern California to complete a fellowship in Phototherapy and Psoriasis Clinical Research from the University of California San Francisco. She then moved back to Houston to fulfill her dermatology training at the University of Texas/M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Following this, she completed an ACGME procedural dermatology fellowship and is accredited by the American College of Mohs Surgeons. After her fellowship, she worked at Wright State University/Dayton Skin Surgery Center in the capacity of Clinical Faculty as a Procedural Dermatology/Mohs Surgeon. She has received numerous scholarships and honors throughout her training and has contributed to her field by authoring several publications and speaking at national meetings.
Her vast knowledge in general and procedural dermatology, clinical research and Mohs Surgery augments the clinical providers at Dermatology Southeast and Dermatology Associates of Tallahassee providing outstanding skin care to our patients.
On a personal note, Dr. Chavez lives in the St. Johns community and enjoys spending time with her three children. She enjoys traveling, biking, dancing, diving, snorkeling and spending time with her family and friends.
